Sterilisation
Our Sterilisation Programme aims to stop the appalling suffering experienced by the majority of stray dogs and cats in Greece due to strays overpopulation. Animal Action Greece believes that the only effective and humane method of achieving this objective is to spay and neuter these animals in order to prevent even more unwanted animals being born and suffering death by starvation, injury and disease, or inhumane methods of culling.
OUR STERILISATION PROJECTS:
Tinos Cats
We are delighted to announce a new collaboration on the island of Tinos for 2023! We currently work with local organisations
Taxiarchis
Animal Action Greece first began working with animal welfare organisation, Artemis, after the tragic wildfires in Greece in August 2021.
Unique Cases
As well as our projects focussed on specific areas, we also work on a number of individual cases across the country, every year.
Friendship Scheme
Our community sterilisation scheme allows individuals to have stray cats sterilised at very low cost.
Paros Cats
Late 2020 saw the launch of our cat population management project on the Cycladic island of Paros, in collaboration with 3 local welfare groups.
Dogs of Aspropyrgos
Since 2017, we have been committed to the dogs of Aspropyrgos, an industrial area located 15 km northwest of the city centre of Athens.
Syros Cats
Our collaboration on Syros began in 2019, working on population management and community engagement alongside the local groups on the island.
