Pets are perhaps not the first group that comes to mind when thinking about those who are having a hard time during the current lockdown restrictions, but all across Greece there are pet dogs suffering. Used to hours of daily outdoor exercise, they’re now stuck inside as their humans struggle with illness, vulnerability or quarantine.

Enter Hellenic Red Cross, who have recently launched the ‘pet walking service’, connecting volunteers with house-bound pet owners to ensure that all dogs get the required minimum 30-60 minute outside exercise, in line with Greek government guidelines.

We are fully behind this thoughtful initiative and encourage everyone to do what they can to make sure pets are not forgotten during these difficult times.
